OZZI Behavior & Barriers Research

example of an early model of an ozzi container, rectangular in shape with a band describing not to throw it away and instead return to dining services.
Project Description:

This submitter proposed to bring five OZZI box drop n' go bins across campus to increase the return rate of OZZI boxes. The proposed budget for this project was $15,000. The committee decided after careful consideration and communication with Chartwells and other campus entities to not fund the addition of more OZZI box collection receptacles because the company was concurrently planning a $50k investment in upgrading the OZZI program to include three new box receptacles and to integrate C-Card functionality for tracking OZZI tokens. In lieu of paying for return receptacles, the committee voted to fund student wages in the amount of ~$6,000 to research behavior, opportunities, and barriers within the OZZI program. It is anticipated that the Sustainability Office pro-staff will mentor and supervise this position for roughly two semesters during AY 24-25.
